Gordon G. Shaw

Gordon G. Shaw, 69, of Sanford, FL, passed away, peacefully after a long illness on July 3, 2015.

Born January 20, 1946 in Buffalo he was a son of Neil and Frances (Wrona) Shaw.

He was a graduate of the University of Buffalo.

Mr. Shaw was a career Banker and Civic Leader who participated as a Rotarian, Civitan, Executive Leader of the Lions Club. He was a Trustee of the Buffalo, Pompano Beach and Miami Chambers of Commerce in Economic Redevelopment/Development Chairmanships, Past President of the Nat’l Assoc. of Accountants. He was a member and Treasurer of the Coral Springs Country Club and the Heathrow Country Club.

Mr. Shaw and his family relocated from Buffalo to Coral Springs, FL in 1981. 

He was the beloved husband for 36 years of Kristine B. (Birmingham) Shaw, who passed away on June 1, 2015.

Surviving are two sons, Aaron (Safina) Shaw of Portland, and  Jeffrey (Jennifer) Verkon of Jacksonville, four daughters, Michael Ann (Ben)  Elliott, twins Kristen Verkon and Kreagh Verkon, all of Orlando, and Jennifer (Michael) Allen of Davie FL, eight grandchildren, Devin, Alex and Braden Elliott, Kaylie Verkon, Madison and Colin Allen, Dalton and Delaney Maxwell, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one brother Bruce Shaw.

Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am Saturday, September 26, 2015, in St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Raymond Gramata, Pastor as celebrant.
