June Marie Hand

June Marie Hand, 89, of 35 Bon Air Road, Derrick City, passed away, Thursday, August 20, 2015, at The Pavilion at BRMC.

Born March 30, 1926, in Bradford she was a daughter of the late Louis E. and  Freda B. (Smith) Gardner.

On December 15, 1961 in Bradford at  she married James D. Hand, who died on May 28, 1989.

She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and a former member of the Derrick Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.

She had been employed as a waitress at the Congress Street Diner and at Johnson Restaurant  and later at Rea& Derrick Drug Store from where she retired.

She is survived by a son, James B. (Dorthy Henderson) Gardner, of Bradford, three sisters, Betty Jean Austin, and Joanne VanOrden, both of Bradford, and Norma Walters, of Tioga, four grandchildren, Michael Ramsey, Lorianne Riley, Veronica Washy  and Jennifer Gardner.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters Joy Henderson, and Jackie Rhoades and one brother, Robert J. Gardner.

At the family's request there will be no public visitation or funeral services.  Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park. 

Memorials if desired may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
