Susan B. Keim

Susan B. Keim, 64, kind wife, daughter, mother, sister and case worker, of 1253 Kushequa Road, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at her residence, surrounded by her family and friends after a short battle with cancer.  

Born September 30, 1950 in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Milton Lopus and Emily (Love) Blaske, who survives. 

On August 5, 1972 in St. Bernard Church, she married Ronald  J. Keim who survives. 

A 1968 graduate of Bradford High School, she earned a degree in Elementary Education from The University of Pittsburgh in 1973. 

She was a casework supervisor for CEM MH/MR, which later became CE Behavioral and Developmental Programs for 25 years. 

Susan was a source of strength and support to everyone who sought her help.  Her generosity knew no limits.  No one was ever turned away who sought her assistance.  Susan understood that the true measure of a person's life was how well we serve others. 

She was a mother to two daughters who suffered from Huntington's Disease and guided their care at clinics at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, MD and Strong Memorial in Rochester, NY.  

Susan was also an avid gardener, pet lover and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. 

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Eric (Aileen Brown) Keim, of Arlington, VA, a sister, Vicki Lopus-McCullough, of Harrisburg; three brothers, Terry (Melinda Rinfrette) Lopus, of Bradford, Mark (Mary Ann Cole) Lopus, also of Bradford and Andy Lopus, of Ludlow and many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her father, two daughters, Beth Ann Keim and Tanya Keim-Kline, and a sister, Lisa Beth Lopus-Ramer. 

Friends are invited to call from 3-5 & 7-9 PM, Sunday, September 27, 2015 in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., East Main St., where funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Monday, September 28, 2015 with Rev. W. LeRoy Beckes, retired pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in  St. Bernard Cemetery.

Ron and family, I am one of Susan's co workers at CE . I am so sorry for your loss. Susan was a special person to everyone she knew. I happen to live right across from our office in RIdgway and would be on my porch in the late afternoon or evening and see her coming back from a visit. I would call out to her...Susan it is time to go home. SHe would say it sure is! I will remember her like that! ANd will thinking of her now as at peace at Home.
