Elizabeth Ann Gomes, 63, of Raleigh NC, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, October 27, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded at home by her loving family, friends and dog Gizmo.

Born January 8, 1952, in Bradford, she was the daughter of Kenneth Shonts of Cyclone, and the late Frances (Sidonia) Shonts who died April 5, 2004. She was a 1969 graduate of Bradford Area High School. 

Liz was the proud owner of Hometown Realty in Bradford, until she moved to Raleigh where she continued her passion of selling and appraising real estate. 

She enjoyed cooking, dancing, gardening, painting, volunteer work and spontaneous road trips. Her most favorite time was spent with family, friends and especially with her grandson. She was a beautiful person that touched so many lives. Her fostering of pets has provided a permanent residence for many critters, including Gizmo. 

In addition to her daughter, Lisa Gomes of Raleigh, she is survived by her father, Kenneth (Esther) Shonts; one grandson, Cayden Lewis, one brother, Ralph Shonts of Arkansas; and several cousins. 

She is preceded in death by her mother, Frances Shonts. 

Friends are invited to attend a Memorial service on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at 1:00pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., 33 South Avenue, with Max Sims, Pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.
