Richard E. Filarecki Jr., 59, of 651 Bolivar Drive, Bradford PA, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015.
Born August 26, 1956, in Buffalo, he was a son of Richard E. and Dorothy (Kuras) Filarecki, Sr who reside in Omaha, NE.
On May 24, 1980, he married Debra Ann (Dell) Filarecki who passed away November 25, 2002. On September 4, 2010 in Niagara Falls, he married Deborah Anne (Wineberg-Leake) Filarecki who survives.
Rick was a 1974 graduate of Cleveland Hill High School in Cheektowaga, NY. He had been employed at Shuman Plastics in Depew for 18 years, and then became an over the road truck driver.
He enjoyed reading, cooking, baking, bonfires, beer, the Blues, the Buffalo Bills and his flamingos. He was a self proclaimed "walking book of useless knowledge", who "had way too much fun".
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Angela (Billy) Rice, of Cleveland, Melissa "Missy" (John Buckley) Filarecki, of Albany, Shannon (Frank) McAndrew, of Bradford, and Sarah (Andrew) McCarty , of CA, a sister, Dorothy (Gary) Reitmeier, of Buffalo, four brothers, William "Peach" (Shelley) Filarecki, of Cheektowaga, Philip Filarecki, Dennis "Oz" Filarecki, and Edmund Filarecki, all of Omaha, NE four grandchildren, Caleb and Carter McAndrew and Aidan and Eliana McCarty and several nieces and nephews.
Family will be receiving friends on Monday, November 16, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 33 South Ave., where funeral and committal services will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at 11:00am Rev. Stephen Collins, pastor, of St. Francis Church officiating.
