Gwen M. Fling

Gwen M. Fling, 88, formerly of 74 Rockland Avenue, passed away Monday, December 7, 2015, at the Bradford Ecumenical Home.

Born November 30, 1927 in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late William and Christine (Hallenmeyer) Kriz.

On May 13, 1950 in Bradford, she married Richard S. Fling, who passed away October 10, 1959.  

She was a 1945 graduate of St. Bernard High School. 

She worked as a legal secretary for Robert J. Healy for 46 years, retiring in 1993. 

She was a member of St. Francis Church and also was a member of the Rosary Altar Society.  She was an avid bowler, cross country skier and belonged to the Bradford Bowling Association. 

She is survived her sister-in-law Elnora Kriz-Morgan of Bradford and several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her step mother, Margaret Hagerty; a daughter at birth, Linda Marie Fling; a son, Daniel R. Fling; one sister, Charlotte Paton and three brothers, Robert Kriz, George Kriz and William Kriz.

Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am on December 28, 2015 in St. Francis Church with Rev. Stephen Collins, pastor as Celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc

Gwen was a great Jerome Ave and Rockland St friend . She was always so upbeat about life. I am so sorry that her life was stolen from her with that terrible disease. I know that she is at peace now with Dick and Danny. I will pray for her tommorrow at Mass.
