Patricia "Patty" Cornelius

Patricia B. "Patty" Cornelius, 83, of 1141 Summit Road, Rew, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, January 12, 2016, unexpectedly, at her residence.

Born February 17, 1932, in Bradford, she was the only child of the late Roy Monroe and Esther P.  (Sloan) Benton.

On May 17, 1951, at the Hill Memorial United Methodist Church in Bradford she married Richard R. "Dick" Cornelius, who died on February 2, 1998.

Mrs. Cornelius was a housewife, homemaker and babysitter. She enjoyed the time she spent with her family, her Church families, and especially the time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Patty was a member of Christian Gospel Church in Coleville and attended the Rew United Methodist Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Deborah A. (Fran) Ritz, of Rew, Shirley J. (Mark) Young, of Houston, TX, and Susan M. (Larry) Yeager, of Rew, one son, William R. Cornelius, of Rew, five grandchildren, Jamie (Jeremy) Luna, Samantha (Brad) Leet, Sharon (Eric) Sharp, Dustin Young, and Gina (John) Cumbo, seven great grandchildren, Dilyn, Deven, Sydney, Ava, Aubrielle, Liv, and Evan, her nieces Carole Thomas and Betty Cumbo with whom she spent many memorable times  with. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband.

Family will be receiving friends on Thursday, January 14, 2015, from 3-5pm & 7-9pm in the  Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 372 East Main St., and again on Friday, from 10:00am to 11:00am at the Rew United Methodist Church where funeral and committal services will be held at   11:00am with Rev. Marge Lindahl, Pastor, Rev. Max Simms, Pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church, co-officiating. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.
