James N. Gould

James N. Gould, 77, of 253 Congress Street, passed away Friday, January 15, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his family. 

Born May 29, 1938,  in Paterson, NJ, he was the son of the late Charles Henry and Elizabeth Mary (Sonne) Gould.

On December 21, 1979 in California he married Karen J. (Weaver)  Gould, who survives. 

He attended schools in Paterson, NJ.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army in June of 1956 and was honorably discharged in 1959. 

After his military service, he worked in numerous capacities, including auto repair and heavy equipment operation.  In 1981, he began working for the U.S. Navy as a machinist and then he was a heavy equipment operator for the U.S. Marine Corps, retiring in 2000. 

He was a member of the Bradford Baptist Church. 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five daughters, Dawn (Art) Terrell, of Lacrosse, WI, Gail (Gary)  Daven, of Wanaque, NJ, Sharon (Russ) Travers, of Snow Hill, MD, Nicole Larson and Krystal Gould, both of Bradford; two sons, James (Rose) Gould  and Joseph Gould,  both of Napa, CA; three granddaughters;13 grandsons; three great granddaughters;  eight great grandson; two sisters, Marie Gorecki, of Texas; Joyce  Corter, of Hamburg, NJ. and many nieces, nephews and extended family members. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, David Letts and three sisters, Stella Redner, Dorothy Babcock and Virginia Marsh.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 6:30 PM, Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at The Bradford Baptist Church, with Rev. Dan Mills, Pastor, officiating. 

Memorial contributions, if desired, can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Jim will certainly be missed by everyone who knew him. He was a very loving person to those around him and he adored his wife and family. Rick looked up to you Jim especially when you worked on his cars :-) Seriously, you were a father figure to him. I'm sure you are together again in heaven. Karen and family my deepest condolences.
