Veronica D. "Rene" Kelly

Veronica D. "Rene" Kelly, 90, of 1231 High Street, Bradford, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2016, surrounded by her loving family, at The Pavilion at BRMC.

Born October 3, 1925, in Custer City, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Suzanna (Stanicar) Sankner.

On April 30, 1949, in Custer City, she married Harry T. Kelly, Jr. who died on April 29, 1974.

Mrs. Kelly attended Custer City Schools. She enjoyed working in her yard and took great pride in her gardens.

She was a member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church.

Rene is survived by five sons, Kenneth (Denise) Kelly, of Olean, Samuel Kelly, Sr., of Middletown, Dennis (Sheri) Kelly, of Aurora, CO, David Kelly, of Bradford, and Kevin (Maria) Kelly, of Bradford, four grandchildren, Samuel (Deidre) Kelly, Jr., Brett Kelly, Ashlyn Kelly and Alex Kelly, one great granddaughter, Nora Kelly, three sister in laws, Shirley Barrett, Lois Newton and Ruby Bliemeister, several nieces and nephews, including Connie Schreiber and Carolyn Marchand and several great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters, Anna Rink, Marjorie Abrams, Mary Pascarella, and Betty Sullivan, four brothers Ed, Mike, Bill and Joe Sankner.

Family will be receiving friends on Friday, February 5, 2016, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 372 East Main Street.

Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am on Saturday February 6, 2016 in Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church with Rev. Steven Collins, pastor as Celebrant. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.

Memorials if desired may be made to Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church, American Cancer Society from which she had been a survivor since 1990, or a charity of the donor's choice.
