Lawrence H. Harrington

Lawrence H. Harrington, 77, of 16 Niles Hollow Bradford, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, February 4, 2016.

Born in Schenectady, NY on February 23, 1938, he was a son of the late Harold and Bertha (Wilder) Harrington. He was a 1957 graduate of Mont Pleasant High School in Schenectady, NY.

On June 30, 1958, he enlisted in the United States Navy. He served aboard the USS Salmon SS 573, he was honorably discharged on June 5, 1962.

On October 20, 2004 at the Church of the Nazarene he married Pat R. (Morris Cole) Harrington who survives.

He attended Coleville Christian Gospel Church. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, hunting, fishing, camping and he loved a good camp fire.

Larry worked as an apprentice carpenter. He worked 23 years as a paid fireman for the City of Glendale Arizona Fire Department and retired to Pennsylvania in 1989. Locally he drove bus for the ATA, Bradford Area School District and drove cars for Ed Schultz Auto Group.

Surviving in addition to his wife Pat are three sons, Patrick G. (Mickey) Harrington, of Bradford, Andrew C. (Wendy) Harrington, of Peoria AZ, Scott L. (Corrie) Harrington, of Waterford, one step daughter, Christina Cole, of Newburyport MA, two brothers, Richard (Jane) Harrington, of Geneva OH, and David (Rosanne) Harrington, of Clarence Center NY, five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one grandson, Killian Harrington.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 1;00 pm on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at the Coleville Christian Gospel Church with the Rev. Daniel LaPage, Pastor officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc.
