Richard B. Rossi

Richard B. Rossi, 96, formerly of 14 Blaisdell Avenue, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at Meadow Brook Health Care in Plattsburgh, NY.

Born July 3, 1919, in Bradford, he was a son of the late Dominick and Eva (Burton) Rossi.

Mr. Rossi was a 1937 graduate of Bradford High School.

On February 18, 1942, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater.  He was awarded three Bronze Stars and honorably discharged December 22, 1945. 

On April 8, 1950 in the First Baptist Church, he married Betty Lorraine (Buhl) Rossi, who passed away August 16, 1994.

He began his working career in banking at Citizens Bank then Bradford National Bank and retired from Penn Bank in 1982 after many years of service. 

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of the Derrick City Volunteer Fire Department

Surviving are two daughters, Nancy S. Hauber, of Onchiota, NY and Jean Rossi, of Collingswood, NJ; a son, James M. Rossi, of Panama City Beach, FL; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Jane Stover of Bradford and several nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers, Frank Rossi, Dominic Rossi, Jr. and Mark Rossi and one sister, Mary Ann Edmonds.

Private graveside services will be in McKean Memorial Park, with Rev. W. LeRoy Beckes, retired Pastor, officiating. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or to the charity of the donor's choice.
