Harold Leroy 'Skip' Blaisdell, 81, of 7594 Route 59, Lewis Run, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Born May 27, 1934, in Kane he was a son of the late Carl and Irene (Black) Blaisdell.
On April 30, 1961, at St. Joseph's Church in Mt Jewett, he married Dawn (Campbell) Blaisdell who survives.
Skip was a 1952 graduate of St. Bernard High School and graduated in 1956 from Gannon University with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Administration.
On January 3, 1957 he enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharge, December 18, 1958. He returned home and worked in the area oil fields for awhile. He then became involved with the building of the Kinzua Dam project. Later he worked for Air Co Speers for 12 year and retired from W. R. Case & Sons Cutlery after 24 1/2 years of service.
Surviving in addition to his wife Dawn of 55 years, are seven daughters, Tina (Darryl) Hilmes, Carla (the late Mark) Hervatin, Elizabeth "Renie" (Terry) Fitzgerald, Ruth (Dan) Whitman, Jan (Rod) Marcellin, Tricia (the late Joe) Lundgren, and Tammy (Jerry) Barrett, one son, Jeffrey (Joan) Blaisdell, one sister, Carol Jean Taylor, of Beaver Creek, OH, 19 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and his four-legged companion, Peanut. He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant son, Christopher Blaisdell, one brother, George Blaisdell.
There will be no public services. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., Burial will be in Lafayette Cemetery.
