Margaret Evans

Margaret Dania Sorokes Evans, 94, formerly of Westline and  Bradford, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at the West Marion Hospital Ocala, Florida.

Born March 7, 1922, in Westline, she was a daughter of  the late Michael and Mary (Safin) Sorokes.

She attended schools in Westline, and Bradford.  She was a devout communicant of the Catholic Church.  Her personal devotion to her Catholic Faith prevailed through her entire life. 

She was employed for many years at Speer Electronics in Bradford. 

On November 21, 1962, she she married Lester B. Evans, who passed away October 6, 2006.

After retirement in the late 1970's, she and Lester permanently relocated to Ocala and seriously pursued their love of golf.  Margaret was a superb golfer and absolutely loved the game which she continued to play until no longer physically able to do so.  When not on the golf course, she enjoyed her gardening in the best kept yard in Oak Park Village where they resided. 

She had been a full time resident at Life Care of Ocala for several years prior to her passing.  During those years, she was lovingly nurtured and cared for by Heidi McFadden of Ocala; a wonderful nurse and caregiver and a loyal personal friend. 

She is survived by her step daughter, Joanne Evans Hockney and husband James, step grandchildren, Shawn Hockney, Heather Hockney Allen and husband Bruce; and their children, Brooke and Justin Hockney and Hunter and Spencer Allen.  Also surviving are a nephew, Gregory F. Sorokes , his wife Harriet and their son William and daughter Laura as well as many other beloved descendants and their children. 

In accordance with Margaret's wishes there will be a graveside service at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 15, 2017 in St. Bernard Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Raymond Gramata, Pastor of St. Bernard Church, officiating. 

Memorial contributions, if desired, can be made to St. Bernard Church, PO Box 2394, Bradford, or the charity of the donor's choice.

I am sorry that Aunt Margaret has passed. She was very close to my mother and she was my beloved Godmother. I am glad to know that she will reside in the Bradford cemetery with many of my other relatives and where I will be one day as well. God Bless
