Arlene M. Soble

Arlene M. Soble, 86, of 268 Langmaid Lane Bradford, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017, at the Bradford Ecumenical Home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Bradford, on January 4, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Maynard R. and Mildred (Farrell) Stoddard. She was a 1949 graduate of Bradford High School.

On December 30, 1950, in the First United Methodist Church, she married Leroy J. Soble who survives.

Arlene worked at the State St. Market, Loblaws Supermarket, Producers Bank and retired as the bookeeper at the Salvation Army.

She always considered her most important role in life to be a loving wife and mother. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother, active in PTA, Little League, and various other activities her sons were involved in. Arlene loved to cook, prepare meals, and found great joy in serving people.

She was a lifetime member of First United Methodist Church, a member and former Lioness of the year of the Bradford Township Lioness Club.

Surviving in addition to her husband Leroy of 66 years, is one son, Mike (Karen) Soble of Bellefonte, one daughter-in-law, Kelly Soble of Bradford, one sister, Kathryn Terwilliger of Franklinville NY, three grandchildren Eric Soble, Jesse Soble, and Adrienne Wheeler, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son Daniel Leroy Soble who died September 13, 2015,  one brother Lawrence Stoddard, and one sister Evelyn Olin.

At the family's request there will be no visitation. Services are private at the convenience of family at Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Crippled Children Hospital, 1645 8th St. Erie, PA 16505 or St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-1942 or the Bradford Ecumenical Home, 100 St. Francis Dr., Bradford PA 16701.
