Dennis C. 'Poppi' Quick, 69, of Tidioute, formerly of Kansas City and Bradford, passed away Monday, May 22, 2017, at his residence.
Born October 3, 1947 in Bradford, he was the son of the late Vincent L. Quick and Rosalba (Parodi) Quick-Gilliam.
He was a 1966 graduate of Bradford Area High School and a graduate of the University of Missouri Kansas City with a bachelor's degree in Science.
On September 27, 1966 he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, served two tours in Vietnam and was honorably discharged July 2, 1973.
Dennis had a long career in management in the food industry. He was a broker prior to his retirement for Home Buyers Mortgage.
He was a motorcycle enthusiast and belonged to Cycle Disciples of Kansas City. He loved hunting, geology, computers, nature in general and most of all giving to others. He was a huge supporter of the March of Dimes and personally raised several thousand dollars for the organization.
He was a unique, colorful, gentle giant and a caring man.
Poppi survived by a daughter, Chandra D. Quick, of Bradford; four sons Dennis M. Quick, Daryl L. (Margo) Quick, David V. Quick, all of Bradford and Danilo V. (Angela) Quick, of Kansas City, MO. 17 grandchildren, Quinton, Shawna, Jacob, Haley, Brittany, David, Cody, Vincent, Dylan, Dexter, Alice, Trevor, Kylin, Zachary, Landon, Lucas, and Lauren; two great grandchildren Sophie and Richard, three sisters, Judy Cloud, Derdri Grant and Lorelei Winner, all of Atlanta, GA and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Damian Clyde Quick and a grandson, Dennis Michael Quick.
Friends are invited to call from 11:00am to 12 Noon, Saturday, May 27, 2017 in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 33 South Avenue, where funeral services will be held at noon with Rev. Matthew Blake, pastor of the Bradford Area Parish, officiating. Full Military Honors by members of the American Legion Post 108 of Bradford, committal services and burial will be held Tuesday May 30, 2017, at 10:00am in Willow Dale Cemetery.
