Rowena M. Holsinger, 85, formerly of Gifford, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017, at The Pavilion at BRMC, surrounded by her loving family.
Born November 16, 1932, in Gifford, she was the daughter of the late John and Agnes (Childs) Graves. She attended school in Cyclone and Bradford High School.
On June 16, 1951 in Gifford, she married George T. Holsinger who died November 4, 2005.
Rowena was a Charter Member of the Hilltop Baptist Church.
She was employed in the assembly department at Case Cutlery for 22 years.
Her passion in life was taking care of her children, and the children of many others, she made many sacrifices even if she had to do without for herself.
Surviving are three daughters, Iris (Kim) Ervin, of Bradford, Bonnita (Kevin) Shott, of Spencer, TN and Kathleen (Dave) Tyger, of Bradford, 7 grandchildren, Kristina Sowers, Matthew Ervin, Bradley Ervin, Michael Shott, Barbara Shott, Keri Shott, and Shaun Tyger, 11 great grandchildren, one sister, Beverly McCool, of Bradford, several nieces and nephews, and her extended family at the Pavilion.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Christopher Holsinger, one daughter, Cynthia Larson, one granddaughter, Jennifer Tyger, one sister Twila Rolf and five brother Floyd, Walter, Philip, Roy, Bob Graves.
Family will be receiving friends on Thursday, December 14, 2017, from Thursday 5:00 to 7:00pm, in the Hilltop Baptist Church and then again on Friday, from 10:00 to 11:00am, where funeral and committal services will be held with Rev. Max Simms, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.
Memorials if desired may be made to the Hilltop Baptist Church, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, or a charity of the donor's choice.
