Thomas T. Fitch

Thomas T. Fitch, 75, of 510 Columbia Hill Road in Rew, PA, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Bradford Regional Medical Center.

Born December 9, 1942 in Ridgway, he was a son of Charles and Laura (Olson) Fitch.

On July 15, 2000, he married Brenda (Ruth) Fitch, who survives.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1960 until he was honorably discharged in 1962 and then served in the U.S. Army Reserves until 1965.

He worked in the Ridgway area as a General Contractor for Imperial Roofing and Logger for many years.  In 1996, he began working as a Loss Control Engineer for Keystone Lumberman’s Association.  He was the co-owner and founder of Majestic Trails in Rew, PA.

He enjoyed being with the family and adored all of his grandchildren, the outdoors, camp fires, hunting and the firework shows his children put on for him.  He will be most remembered by his ‘dry’ sense of humor and as the ‘Sheriff with Radar’ and his work ethics which he passed on to everyone that he worked with.  He left behind a legacy and he touched everyone’s heart that knew him.  He will be sadly missed by his immediate family and his ‘Majestic’ family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Connie (Chris) Zaffino of Warren, Thomas Joe (Teresa) Fitch of Wilcox, James (Joan) Thompson of Rew, Susie (Jason) Carter of Smethport and Christopher (Carrie) Thompson of LaGrange, NC; ten grandchildren, Krysta Kane, Kaylie Fitch, Brianna Zaffino, Spencer Zaffino, Ashlee Lewis, Megan Lewis, Dante Thompson, Lilly Thompson, Daniel Thompson, Nicholas Thompson, Nadia Carter, Gabriela Carter and Carter Jenkins; five great grandchildren, Kamdyn Kane, Fiorina Kane, Kevin Dienes, Gia Dienes and Logan Roney, born on the day Tom passed away;  three sisters, Margaret ‘Sissy’ Fitch of Johnsonburg, Betty (John) Ginkle of Mt. Jewett ad Mary Ann Smith of Sanborn, NY; two brothers, Charles ‘Bud’ (Susie) Fitch of Riddle, OR and Claude (Janet) Fitch of Long Beach, CA and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Frances McDonald, Lillian ‘Till’ Winters, Edith Perkins and Helen Wolfe and one brother, Clinton Fitch

Friends may call from 1-3 PM, Sunday, February 4, 2018 in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, 33 South Avenue, where funeral services will be held at 3 PM with Rev. Robert Klouw, Co-Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Memorial contributions, if desired, can be made to the McKean County SPCA or to the charity of the donor’s choice.

To the entire Majestic family. Words can not express mine and Robert''s sadness at this great loss. Tom was the father that both Robert and I have lost. Robert and Tom''s relationship was like no other. We will miss him and his jokes and his shuffle down the hill to enjoy Roberts sad fires. My entire family of visitors to our site will also miss this gentle giant. May you rest in peace and continue to watch and bless us from the heavens. We will try to be on our best behavior knowing that you are doing just that. Adios Sheriff. God speed.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Brenda, the kids and grandkids. Tom was like the big quiet oak amongst the maples, ash and evergreens on Majestic Mountain. He will be sadly missed by his camp families who grew to love the Ole Sheriff.
