Pearl G. Mellring, 99, formerly of 22 Dennis Lane, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018 at The Bradford Ecumenical Home.
Born March 9, 1918 in Penfield, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Grace Kier.
She attended schools in New York State and worked for Eastman Kodak for a time and for Stromberg-Carlson, a manufacturer of one of the first black and white televisions. She then moved to Canandaigua, NY and worked in the hotel business.
She then moved to Columbus, OH and married Ray E. Mellring on June 7, 1958, who passed away August 7, 1991.
During her time in Columbus, she worked for the Ohio Parent-Teacher Association.
Her husband was transferred to Bradford in 1958 and she began working for Bovaird and Seyfang. She then worked for Dresser Manufacturing, from where she retired after many years of service.
She was an active member of the Bradford Senior Center and was on the committee to build the new center on Campus Drive. She was also active on the Football Boosters, Little League and Baseball Boosters, when her grandson played ball.
She is survived by a son,Gary (Marsha) Mellring, of Bradford; one grandson, Robert (Dawn) Mellring of Newark, OH; two great grandchildren, Peyton and Braxton Mellring, also of Newark, OH and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by all five of her brothers, Earl Kier, Edison Kier, George Kier, Frank Kier and Harold Kier.
There will be no visitation and services will be private. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.
Memorial contributions, if desired, can be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
