Doris M. Shonts, 84, formerly of Cyclone, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018, at UPMC Montefiore in Pittsburgh.

Born November 11, 1933 in Limestone she was a daughter of the late Charles M. and Harriet (Langworthy) Schermerhorn Sr.

On December 15, 1955, in Limestone she married, Everett James Shonts who died February 5, 1998.

Doris owned and operated a bakery out of her home and later worked at the Hannum Memorial Rest Home.

She enjoyed shopping, talking to her family, and baking for family and friends.

Surviving are two daughters, Phobie Nelson, of Eldred, and Myeare Shonts of Ellendale DE, one son, Roland (Donna) Shonts of Goldsboro PA, eight grandchildren, one great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five sisters, Betty Hutchinson, Joyce Anthony, Lucille Jackson, Katherine Whelan, and Patty Lawton, three brothers Charles Jr., Robert and Fred Schermerhorn.

Family will be receiving friends on Wednesday February 14, 2018 ,from 3-5pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. 33 South Ave. at 5:00pm funeral and committal services will be held with the Rev. Robert Brest, pastor of First Free Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.
