Barbara D. Thessen

Barbara D. Thessen, 91, formerly of East Bradford, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018.

Born May 24, 1926 in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Isabelle E. (Eidson) Crandall. She graduated from Bradford High School in 1942.

On May 26, 1947, she married William C. Thessen, who died December 15, 1975.

Barbara went to work out of high school for Dr. Hugh Ryan DDS as a secretary and receptionist.

She was a devoted housewife, mother and enjoyed gardening, spending time with family and friends. She was an avid reader, and yard saler.

Surviving is one daughter, Margo Thessen, two sons, Wayne Thessen and Fred Thessen, four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters Mary Ann Johnson, and Sally L. Cross, and one brother Fred Crandall.

Family will be receiving friends on Thursday, March 1, 2018, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc. 372 East Main St., at 4:00pm funeral services will be held with Rev. Gary Smith, Pastor of the Faith Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the Bradford Public Library, or Faith Baptist Church.
