Dale F. Fox

Dale F. Fox, 93, of 652 Derrick Road, Bradford, passed away, Monday August 13, 2018, after a short stay at Bradford Manor.

Born November 20, 1925, in Bradford, a son of the late Earl M. and Hazel Fox.

Dale was a 1943 graduate of Bradford High School and a 1949 graduate from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Science in finance and a minor in Geology.

He enlisted in the Army Specialized Training program from which he went into the 63rd Infantry Division.  He landed in southern France and fought through Germany and Austria until the German Surrender, receiving several awards including the Silver Star. 

On September 4, 1948, he married Audrey (James) Fox. who preceded him in death in May of this year.

Dale worked with Smith & Hall, Investment Counselors and the Trust Department of Security Trust Bank in Rochester, NY, before returning to Bradford to work as a Vice President of the Production Department of Kendall Refining Company for 34 years.  After his retirement, he continued to develop various oil and gas properties in Pennsylvania and New York.

Over the years, he enjoyed ice skating, skiing, bicycling, hunting and fishing and was a Boy Scout leader for several years.

Surviving is a brother, Tom of Boulder, Colorado; a daughter,  Barbara Fox and her husband David Bzik , ofHanover New Hampshire, one daughter in law, Dana L  (Fox) Alverson of Boise, Idaho, a son, D. Richard R. (Ann) Fox, of Centerville, four granddaughters, Katherine (Ben) Kotinsley, Margaret (Brian) Maxwell, Victoria Fox (Mark Jacobson), and Matayah (Louis) Perez, two grandsons, Cade Fox and Landon Fox, two great grandchildren, Connor Kotinsley and Ruby Maxwell, one brother, E. Gordon (Barbara) James of Clifton Forge, Va. and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Audrey J. Fox; four brothers Robert M., Richard, William, and Don; a sister Marjorie F. Gardner;  one son James B. Fox, and one infant great grandson, Gabriel Kotinsley.

Family will receive friends on Friday September 7, 2018, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc. 33 South Ave., at 7:00 pm members of the American Legion Honor Guard will conduct Military Honors. Private graveside services will be held for the family in Willow Dale Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.

Memorials if desired may be made to The Bradford Oil Museum, the Bradford Library or a charity of the donor's choice.

His gentle nature and sense of humor will be missed by all.
