Charles W. Kockler

Charles William “Bud” Kockler, 74, of Mechanicsburg, formerly of Bradford, passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at Harrisburg Hospital. 

 

Born May 4, 1944 in Olean, he was the son of the late William and Caroline (Gagliardi) Kockler. He was a 1962 graduate of Otto-Eldred High School, but considered Bradford home.

 

Bud moved to Arizona to raise his young family with his first wife Ann (Robinson) Kockler. While living in Arizona he worked as a disc jockey and pursued his love of Rock and Roll, meeting many of his music idols and later music legends. He moved back to Pennsylvania and held various positions, eventually retiring from the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

 

Bud loved most sports and was an avid Phillies fan and golfer.

 

He is survived by three sons; Steven Kockler, and Bill Kockler, both of AZ, Brandon Kockler, of LA, one daughter Jackie Melvin of CO, along with their respective families, also three sisters, Billie Cummins of Bradford, Carolyn Maney of Harrisburg and Mary (Rick) Boyajian of Dillsburg, four brothers, Phillip Kockler of Fl, Richard (Cyrilla) Kockler, of Washington, Pa., and James (Shirley) Kockler, of Tionesta, and Don (Kim) Kockler, of Harrisburg, and his longtime friend Kelly Latshaw of Mechanicsburg.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Ann, and his second wife Linda (Allen) Kockler.

 

Bud’s family will gather for a private memorial service at a future date.
