Raymond L. Magnetti, Sr.

Raymond L. "Ray" Magnetti, Sr.,  74, of 10 Lincoln Drive, Lewis Run, passed away on January 21, 2019, at Legacy House in Ocala, Fl. 

Born January 25, 1944 in Berkley, CA, he was a son of the late Anthony Magnetti and Paul and Helen (Allen) Fairbanks.

On February 12, 1966 in Lewis Run, at Our Mother of Perpetual Help, he married Nancy (Atkinson) Magnetti, who preceded him in death on January 3, 2007. 

Ray attended the Bradford area schools. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. in 1961, he served during the Cuban Missle Crisis. He was honorably discharged.

He worked for Seneca Pre-Cast and than retired after working nineteen years at Zippo Manufacturing.  

Ray was a member of the Zippo Golf League, Life member of the VFW in Smethport, a member, Life member and  Past Commander of the American Legion of Bradford, and  former member of the Moose Lodge, Italian Club, member and past President of Bradford Township Lions Club, and Past President of the Mutual Aid Society in Lewis Run.

Surviving are five sons, Raymond Magnetti, Jr., of Custer City, Paul (Maria) Magnetti, of Chicago, Scott (Carolee) Magnetti, of Duncansville, David Magnetti, of Lewis Run, and Jason (Kayla) Magnetti, of Altoona, 15 Grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, one sister, Karen Riley, of Ocala, FL, and one brother, Tony Magnetti, of Bradford. 

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son, John Andrew Magnetti, three brothers, William "Bill" Fairbanks, Larry Magnetti, Peter Magnetti, and one brother-in-law, Mike Riley.

Friends will be received on Friday, January 25, 2019, from 3;30pm to 6:00pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc, 33 South Ave,, and again on Saturday from 10:00am to 11:00am at which time funeral service will be held with Rev. Raymond Gramata, pastor of St. Bernard Church, officiating. Committal services and Full Military Honors will be accorded at St. Bernard Mausoleum, by members of the United States Marine Corps League of Mt. Jewett, Detachment 1102.

Memorial contributions if desired may be made to the American Cancer Society, or the charity of the donor's choice.
