Harold D. Walb

Harold D. Walb, 96, of Bradford, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2018, at the Bradford Regional Medical Center. 

Born May 1, 1922 in Bradford, he was a son of the late David and Myrtle (Manry)  Walb.

He attended Bradford schools. 

On January 18, 1945, he enlisted in the United States Army. He served with Company B 65th Combat Engineer Battalion, in the Pacific Theatre, during WWII. He was honorably discharged on October 26, 1946.
 
In July of 1944 in Ellicottville, NY, he married Maxine (Harper) Walb, who died July 19, 2011.

Mr. Walb had been employed as a foreman during the construction of the Kinzua Dam and several bridges on RT 86. He was also a self-employed contractor in the Bradford area for 40 years.

He was member of the Masonic Lodge, American Legion, and the VFW.

Harold is survived by one daughter, Bonnie Lee Walb of Bradford, two sisters, Jeanette Watts, of Bradford, and Connie (Ron) Ross, of Phoenix, AZ, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Kay RIng, and Betty Cereghino and two brothers, Kenneth Walb, and Bill Walb.

At Mr. Walbs request there will be no visitation, funeral services will be private.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc.
