John George Schweikart III, 62, of Winchester KY, formerly of Eldred, beloved husband of Kathie Schweikart, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2019.

He was a retired employee of Winchester Municipal Utilities and was the Maintenance Director at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

In addition to his spouse, he is also survived by one son, John Schweikart IV, three daughters, Mable (Ryan) Carter, Jamie (Matthew) Gatewood and Samantha Lolies; three brothers, Ted (Phyllis) Schweikart and Tom (Charlotte) Schweikart, William Schweikart and one sister, Gloria (Phillip) Lawson; sisters-in law Phoebe Moses, Ethel Townsend, and Virginia Owens; Godfather Ray Moses and many loving nieces and nephews. He was the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren; Trace Thompson, Matthew Lanham; Jadyn Carter, Carson Carter, Sarah, Danyae, and Tobyn Lolies. He was preceded in death by his parents John Schweikart, Jr. and Margaret (Peg) Papierski, and one son Robert Lanham and 2 brothers, Richard Schweikart and Jim Risher. 

A Mass of Christian Burial was held in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Winchester.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in John’s memory to the St. Joseph Chapel Renovation Fund or St. Joseph Youth Group.
