Nancy Kay Mackey

Nancy Kay Mackey, 73, of 33 McKune Avenue, Bradford, passed away Friday, January 22, 2021, at Olean General Hospital.

Born October 28, 1947 in Kane, she was a daughter of the late William and Alva (Bernard) Burdick.

She was a 1965 graduate of Smethport High School, and a 1967 graduate of Bradford Hospital School of Nursing where she received her LPN Degree.

On February 15, 1968 at the West Branch United Methodist Church, she married Walter G. Mackey who survives.

Nancy was employed as an LPN at Bradford Regional Medical Center, then left work to raise her sons and returned to the workforce at the Bradford Ecumenical Home. She retired on December 31, 2009 after a 25-year career in nursing.

Nancy enjoyed traveling with her husband to places like, the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, the Smokey Mountains, and going to casinos along the way. She loved to watch the Buffalo Bills, St. Bonaventure Bonnies, and Professional Golf. She enjoyed attending local sporting events and never missed an event her sons participated in, especially baseball and bowling.

Surviving in addition to her husband, Walt of nearly 53 years, are two sons, Joseph (Amy Gigliotti) Mackey, of Bradford, and David (Kristin) Mackey, of Beavercreek, OH, one sister, Becky (Bob) Funk, of Smethport, four grandchildren, Ryan Mackey, Grace Mackey, Curtis Mackey, and Craig Mackey, her grand dog "Maddie", three great grandchildren, one sister-in-law Donna (Mike) Miles, of Smethport, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Robert Burdick.

Friends are invited to livestream her Celebration of Life at www.hollenbeckcahill.com on Saturday January 30, 2021, at 11:00am with Rev. Max Simms, Pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church, officiating.
