Jeffrey G. Hanson, 53, of Renfrew, formerly of Bradford, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at his residence with his wife and parents at his side, after a two and a half year battle with Cholangiocarcinoma.
Born on October 25, 1967 in Fort Lewis, WA, he was the son of Jack G. and Gloria (Bond) Hanson, of Bradford.
On June 14, 2003 in Bradford, he married Carol Ann Hanson who survives.
Jeff was a 1985 graduate of Bradford High School. He attended and graduated from Edinboro University, in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree in Communication.
He began working at Gertrude Barber Center in Erie, later he was head of a group home in Charlotte, NC, and was currently employed as a recruiting manager for General Electric Company. He also worked the sidelines for the Carolina Panthers.
Jeff was a member of Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity.
He enjoyed outdoor activities and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing from his boat. He had a knack for winning at sports gambling. Jeff loved hanging out at the family’s mini farm. He loved watching basketball and football especially his favorite team the Steelers.
Jeff had a love for nature, friends and grandma Hanson’s chocolate chip cookies. Jeff loved the trips to the oil rigs with grandpa. He took many trips to camp Wildcat with family, friends and cousins.
Jeff was blessed to have Carol Ann as his wife. The two lived on a hill in an "A" frame log home surrounded by woods. The life of animals and friends were filled by horses, mini horses, cats, dogs, rabbit and chicken. He was a true outdoorsman.
His professional life with General Electric provided him the ability to travel to many countries. What he did, was his best to the end. A very, gentle loving son, missed by mom, dad, and Carol Ann.
Surviving are his wife of 17 years, Carol Ann Hanson, of Renfrew, his parents Jack and Gloria Hanson, of Bradford, one aunt Marilyn Vecellio, of Bradford, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by five aunts, Lois Finzel, Lorraine Bentley, Delores Hoffman, Harriett Hultburg, and Phyllis Pingel, three uncles, Richard "Dick" Hanson, William Hanson, and Wally Bond.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, February 13, 2021, from 11:00am to Noon in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. 33 South Ave. in Bradford, PA. followed by funeral services with Rob Klouw, Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.
