Daniel L. Dunkle

Daniel L. Dunkle, 73, of Babcock Road, Bradford, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021, at his residence, with his wife Carol (Regis) Dunkle, by his side.

Born on July 21, 1947 in Port Allegany, he was a son of the late Neil Hinchman and Dorothy (Chase) Dutchess.

He was a graduate of Bradford High School class of 1966. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving as a combat engineer with the 7th Engineer Battalion in Vietnam. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with one Star, the Vietnam Campaign Medal with device, and the Purple Heart. He was honorably discharged on September 23, 1968.

After his military service, he moved to Jamestown, NY and worked in quality control at Art Medal Manufacturing for approximately 8 years. Dan worked for the Bradford City Sanitation Department at the Transfer Station on Seaward Avenue, when he retired he held a position in management.

He was a lifetime member of the Vets Club and past Commander, the American Legion, and the Eagles. 

Daniel is  survived by his wife Carol, whom he was was with 21 years, and six daughters, Tina Cochran, Tammy Kesby, Lisa Dunkle, Misty Flanagan, Jennifer Walker, and Amber Bunce, nine grandchildren, one great grandson, two sisters, Bonnie Hartzell, and Donna (Gary) Mealy, and several nieces and nephews

Friends are invited to Dan's celebration of life at the Bradford Vets Club, 94 Barbour St., Monday February 15, 2021 from 1-3pm. Military honors will be presented at 3pm by the American Legion Post 108 Honor Guard and the United States Marine Corps.

Memorial contributions, if desired, can be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
