Louise D. Gerringer

Louise D. Gerringer, 73, of Duke Center, passed away at her residence on Sunday, February 21, 2021. 

Born on November 12, 1947, in Wheatland, Wy, she was the daughter of the late Leah Leonard.

After graduating high school, she attended Dental Technician and Hygiene School,  working for several years in California and Hawaii.

On April 23, 1983, in Hawaii, she married Sgt. Jay Joseph Gerringer, who survives.

Louise loved being a stay at home mom, taking care of her two boys and supporting her husband who served 20 years in the Marine Corps. She was a private person to many people but loved her pets and all animals alike, participating in outdoor activities such as riding ATV's, fishing and camping, even helping the guys process deer and cook the venison they got during hunting season. She also enjoyed relaxing in her house watching TV series on PBS and her favorite, The Walking Dead.

She was a member of ATV Traction McKean County Chapter.

Louise is survived by her husband Jay of 37 years, her sons Peter and his wife Joann Anaya and Michael Anaya, sister Tammy Leonard, and two brothers Kerry Leonard and Jerry Leonard. She was a grandmother to Peter's daughters Jordyn Garrard, Shelby Anaya, and Shyann Anaya, and Michael's children, Paul, Keoki, Angelica, Lucky, and Michael Jr. Anaya. Louise was a great-grandmother to Jordyn's daughters Talia and Natalie Garrard, Paul's children Kinley and Jay Anaya, Keoki's daughter London Anaya, Angelica's daughter Charlie Cook, and Lucky's daughter Leyla Anaya.  

She was preceded in death by her mother Leah Leonard and sister Pat DeWitt.

At the families request, there will be no service at this time but will be announced at a later date. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.
