Robert E. Lewis

Robert E. Lewis, 102, of Bradford, passed away, Friday, March 12, 2021, at Bradford Ecumenical Home.

Bob was born in Bryant, Indiana on September 3, 1918, a son of the late Earl and Edith (Hicks) Lewis. He was a 1936 graduate of Poling High School. 

On October 8, 1943 in Warren, he married Jane (Loree) Lewis who passed away May 13, 2020.

On September 15, 1944, he was drafted into the United States Army. He served in the Philippines. He was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with 2 Bronze Battle Stars, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 1 Bronze Battle Star and was honorable discharged on November 25,1946.
 
Bob opened and operated Gray's Auto Store on Main Street from 1949 until he closed the doors in 1983.

He had a love for many things. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed many hours playing golf, working in his gardens and on his woodworking projects.  

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Bradford Union Lodge 749 F&AM, Coudersport Consistory, and Charter member of Pine Acres Country Club. 

Surviving is one daughter, Nan L. Stoling, of Rochester, NY, one granddaughter Tammie Kimpton of Rochester, NY, two great grandsons, Kyle and Christopher Kimpton, two sisters, June Reinhart of Ft. Wayne IN, and Lois Jane Lybarger of Sebring FL, one brother, John Lewis of Bryant IN, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Leta Bradley, and Louise Miller, and two brothers, Cecil Lewis and Hubert "Sam" Lewis.

At the family’s request there will be no services observed. 

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.

Memorials contributions if desired, may be made to the First United Methodist Church 23 Chambers Street, Bradford, PA 16701., or of a donors choice.
