Martin "Keith" Shultz, 91, of Nichols Run, Limestone, NY, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 2, 2021, with his son Todd and daughter in-law, Chris by his side.
Born October 28, 1929 in Bradford, he was a son of the late Frank O. and Ruth (Hulett) Shultz.
On November 19, 1949 in Olean, he married Gertrude A. (Deemer) Shultz, who preceded him in death on July 20, 2009.
He was a 1947 graduate of Bradford High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served aboard the USS Midway before being honorably discharged.
Keith worked in the oil fields, owned a service station with his brother Bill. He was a welder for Dresser, had worked at Corning Glass before starting his own contracting business and then his own oil production company.
He was a lifetime member of the Limestone Fire Department, the Bradford Gun Club, and the Limestone Legion. He had attended the Limestone United Methodist Church.
Keith was a farmer half his life and great with horses. In his younger years he was an avid hunter. Martin and his wife loved to travel and would spend many winters in Florida where he loved to fish. He was a loving father and grandfather.
Surviving is one daughter, Marta (Michael) Grubb, of Beaufort, NC, three sons, Roger Shultz of Spearfish, SD Tim (Debbie) Shultz of Gray Court, SC, and Todd (Chris) Shultz of Limestone, NY, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Gertrude of 60 years, seven brothers, one sister, and one granddaughter, Tana Shultz.
Family will be receiving friends on Wednesday April 7, 2021, from 10:00 am to Noon in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. 33 South Ave., at which time funeral services will be held with the Rev. Seth McClymonds, Pastor of First United Methodist Church officiating. Committal services and full Military Honors by members of the Limestone American Post 1560 Honor Guard will follow in Limestone Cemetery.
