Gloria L. Martin

Gloria L. Martin, 95, a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, of 1464 South Ave, Lewis Run, passed away Friday April 16, 2021, at the Bradford Ecumenical Home.

Born March 16, 1926, in Bradford, a daughter of the late Harold C. and Marian A. (Salisbury) Foster.

Gloria was a 1944 graduate of Bradford Area High School.

On November 28, 1945 in Lewis Run, she married William C. Martin who preceded her in death on January 4, 2001.

She was a faithful and very active member of Evans Memorial United Methodist Church in Lewis Run, Gloria was the church organist for over 60 years, she taught Sunday School and served on the church Board of Directors. She was also an active member of the United Methodist Women.

Gloria was a homemaker and was active in the Lewis Run PTA, taught private piano lessons in her home for many years, and enjoyed, quilting, scrapbooking, and most especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving is one daughter, Mary Beth (Gerald) Hulings, of Chandler, AZ, three sons, William (Marie) Martin, of Bradford, Steven (Turina) Martin, of Lewis Run, and Samuel (Katie) Martin, of Lewis Run, one sister, Ardis Hayes, of Ogden, AK, 17 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter in law, Karla "Mickey" Martin.

Family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in the Evans Memorial United Methodist Church, at Noon, funeral and committal services will be held with Rev. Ken Duffee, pastor, officiating. Standard Covid protocols are in effect. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.
