John D. Crowley

John D. Crowley, 74, of 18 Chestnut Street. Mount Jewett, passed away May 4, 2021 at Olean General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Born April 1, 1947 in Ellwood City, he was a son of the late William and Nellie (Klindienst) Crowley.

He was a 1965 graduate from Lincoln High School in Ellwood City. He served in the United States Air Force as a Chinese Mandarin Linguist operating out of Okinawa, Thailand, and Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in March 1972 as a Sergeant.

On August 1, 1969 in Bradford, he married Alane M. (Clark) Crowley, who survives.

In 1978 he graduated with honors from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. He worked for several years in planning and economic development in McKean County. Realizing he was more fulfilled working with his hands on machinery and equipment, he left the office environment to work as an industrial mechanic and production supervisor at several facilities throughout the county. His hobbies included woodworking, small gas engine repair, and fly fishing.

Surviving in addition to his wife Alane of 51 years are three children, Aimee (Patrick) Conneely of Bradford, Pete (Nichole) Crowley of Kane and Jeff (Beth) Crowley of Slippery Rock, nine grandchildren, Ciaran and Colin Conneely, Connor, Jenny and Everett Crowley, Alexa Olmstead, and Maya, Jon and Liam Crowley.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William Crowley, who died in 2008.

Friends will be received on Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Mt. Jewett Assembly of God Church in Mt. Jewett, PA.  At 11:00 am a Celebration of Life will be held with Pastor Cam Mealy, and Pastor Cindy Duffee, Pastor of the Mt. Jewett United Methodist Church, co-officiating.
