Bernice K. Rea

Bernice K. "Pee Wee" Rea, 86, of 15 Church Street, Lewis Run, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Born March 14, 1935, in Kinzua, she was a daughter of the late Harlow William and Ruth Belle (Bennett) Crooks.

She attended Custer City Schools.

On February 5, 1954, in Degolia, she married Edgar LeRoy Rea, who passed away December 15, 2001.

She worked for Zippo Manufacturing and retired after 46 years.

Bernice loved to go camping with Roy, doing word searches, riding bikes, and working around the yard. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. 

Surviving are six daughters, Katherine Luann (Davis) Redington, Bonnie (Barry) Burritt, Donna (Daniel) Ross, Sandy (Tim) Ekas, Diane Rea, and Janet (Tom) Welch, one son, Bernard "Buzzy" (Kat) Rea, one sister, Carol (Mike) Scaggs, 23 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son, Robert LeRoy Rea, grandson, Brian Rea, great grandson, Parker Burritt, granddaughter, Tina Ross, one sister, Genevieve Hinman, and three brothers, William Crooks, Arthur Crooks, and her twin brother, Bernard Crooks.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday May 26, 2021, from 4 to 7PM  and again on Thursday from 10-11am at the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc. 372 East Main, where funeral services will be held on Thursday May 27, 2021 at 11am with Rev. Max Simms, Pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.
