Thomas S. Skaggs Jr.

Thomas S. Skaggs, Jr. 90, of 297 Derrick Road, passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at Bradford Regional Medical Center.

Born February 25, 1931 in Bradford, he was a son of the late Thomas and Hilda (Bedell) Skaggs. He attended Bradford schools.

On May 4, 1957 in Rew, he married Beverly Ann (Hayes) Skaggs who preceded him in death on August 29, 1996. 

Tom worked in the oil fields for many oil companies including Cline Oil Company, Walter Oil Company, Pennzoil Company  for over 20 years. In retirement he pumped wells for Roy Erskin, and Bob Sage. He also worked at Air-Co Speer.

He was a 40 year member of the Derrick City Volunteer Fire Department. He loved life, but his greatest joy was being with family and taking his grandkids anywhere they needed to go.

Surviving are three daughters, Becky Davis, of Bradford, Terri Skaggs of Bradford, and Peggy Calcagno, of Brockway, two sons, Robert (Cindy) Skaggs, of Bradford, Timothy Skaggs, of Wyoming, and 10 grandchildren, including his special granddaughter, Michele Skaggs, many great grandchildren, and one brother, Ralph Skaggs, of Bradford, and several nieces and nephews..

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Beverly, two son-in-laws Donald Davis, and Greg Kube, one great grandson, Aiden Matthew Davis, three brothers, Robert "Bobby" Skaggs, Harold Skaggs, and Floyd Skaggs.

Friends will be received on Tuesday July 6, 2021, from 3-5 pm & 7-9 pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 372 East Main Street, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 am with Rev. W. LeRoy Beckes, retired Presbyterian Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park

Members of the Derrick City Volunteer Department will call as a group Tuesday at 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions if desired may be made to the Derrick City Volunteer Fire Department.
