Edward Larry Smith

Edward L. Smith, 73, of Bradford, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at the Bradford Ecumenical Home. 

Born on November 25, 1947, in Center, Kansas, he was a son on the late Merton and Ardath(Quick) Smith. 

Larry graduated from Butler High School in Hutchinson, KS and completed some college education before he joined the United States Marine Corps, receiving an honorable mention for his service from 1966-1969 during the Vietnam Campaign. After the military, he worked for Superior boiler as a welder and later retired as the maintenance manager from Oak Canyon Furniture in Phoenix, Arizona.

He met Linda K. Kramer in California and after several years of dating, they got married on September 3, 2001 in Bullhead City, Arizona.

Larry loved to fish, watching television, and enjoyed being the handyman, working on the house and his vehicles.

He is survived by his wife Linda of 20 years, one son Jeff Smith, Step son Randy (Julie) Petitt, of Oakley, California, step daughter Carol Shugars, Phoenix, AZ, Sisters Deanna (CJ) Compton, of Missouri and Paula Clements, Nebraska, Brother Phillip Smith, of Kansas, three sisters in law Rosemary (the late Robert) Gilling, Jessica (Richard) Skillman, and Kelly (William) Eck, all of Bradford, grandchildren Tiffany, Jacob, Desiree, Leanne, Samantha, and several nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded by his parents, sister Cindy Moore, brother Robert Smith, and brother in law Keith Clements.

Keeping with Larry's wishes, there will be no public service.
