Cordelia A. Eddy

Cordelia A. “Cordie” Breese Eddy, 88, of 600 Seaward Ave., Bradford, passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at UPMC Hamot.

Born January 23, 1933, in Lewis Run, she was a daughter of the late Clara A. (Layfield) and George Edward Breese. She attended elementary school in Lewis Run and graduated from Bradford High School in 1950.

On October 31, 1953, in Degolia, she married Kenneth B. Eddy, who preceded her in death April 6, 2006.

Cordie worked at Dresser Manufacturing, then Bovaird and Seafang before going to Corning Glass, where she worked 30 years before retiring as Sales and Service supervisor.

She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, where she could always be counted on to help out during times of need. She was active with Current Events and Silver Link, a member of the Red Hat Society and a former member of the Bradford Ecumenical Home Board of Directors. She volunteered many years at Bradford Regional Medical Center and enjoyed going to Upbeat.

She took great pride in maintaining her home and lawn, and loved planting flowers and gardening. She enjoyed cooking for her family, birdwatching, crossword puzzles and crafting fleece blankets for her grandchildren.    

Surviving is her daughter Karen Eddy of Cleveland, Ohio; daughter-in-law Julie Eddy of Bradford; four grandchildren, Devon (Jeff) Kloss, Sara Eddy (Jimmer) Furlong, Eric (Suzanne Sager) Marasco and Elizabeth Marasco; seven great-grandchildren, Brooks Hayden, Leah Hayden, Colin Okerlund, Kenley Okerlund, Jameis Furlong, Leo Marasco and Sophia Marasco; brother, Richard Breese of Delta, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her son Kenneth G. Eddy (Oct. 26, 2018); two sisters, Dorothy Van Buren and Marilyn Brown; three brothers, James E. Breese, Dan Breese and Gary “Tex” Breese.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8, 2021, at First Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will follow at 1 o’clock with the Rev. Rob Klouw, co-pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in McKean Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
