James J. Caskey

James J. Caskey, 75, of West Washington Street, Bradford, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Bradford Regional Medical Center.

Born September 13, 1946, in St. Mary’s, he was a son of the late John J. and Florence (Eckert) Caskey, Sr. He was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School.

On December 22, 1965, he enlisted in the United States Army. He was honorably discharged on November 7, 1966.

Jim was employed by the United States Postal Service for over 50 years retiring in 2010 as Postmaster of the Gifford Post Office. He also owned and operated Caskey's Coffee Company for nearly 20 years. For many years he owned a gravel pit and sold gravel to area families and contractors. He loved living in Corydon township, and just sitting on his front porch.

Jim enjoyed fishing, golfing, line dancing, skiing, playing lottery tickets, 

Surviving is his common-law wife Jane Dickerson of 18 years, two sons, James P. (Barbara) Caskey, of Bradford, and Jason A. Caskey, of Bradford, two grandchildren, Sarah Ann Caskey and Jason Tyler Caskey, four sisters, Margaret Yanak, of St. Marys, Norma Myers, of St. Marys,  Patricia Caskey, of DuBois, and Mary Kay Reider, of Kersey, and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends from Noon to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. South Ave.,

Funeral services are private at the convenience of family, followed by Military Honor's by members of the United States Army and the Honor Guard from the American Legion Post 108 of Bradford. Burial will follow St. Bernard Cemetery.
