Charlene M. Butler, 89, of 3 Delaware Avenue, Bradford, passed away,
Thursday, February 3, 2022, at her residence.
Born November 12, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Charles and
Sylvia (Buoite) Hyland.
She was a 1952 graduate of Bradford High School.
On August 18, 1956, in St. Bernard Church, she married Joseph G.
Butler, who preceded her in death on December 11, 2015.
She was employed as a bookkeeper at the Bradford Era and WESB. On October 1, 1978 she along with her husband Joe purchased Man's World. She continued to operate the store after Joe died with her son Mike.
Mrs. Butler and her husband Joe started the Bradford Stroke Group and
the Silver Wheels program and ran them for many years.
Surviving are two daughters, Susan Hillard, and Charla (Thomas) Munn, two sons, Michael (Sandy) Butler, and Charles (Beth Birtcil) Butler all of Bradford, five grandchildren, Katlyn Hillard, Brett (Nicole) Butler, Meagan (Paige) Stone, Brooke (Tyler Smith) Butler and Natalie (Emily Lewis) Munn, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son-in-law
Daniel Hillard, and one brother, Charles Thomas Hyland.
Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday
February 7, 2022, at Noon in St. Bernard Church in Bradford with Rev.
Raymond Gramata, pastor as Celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bernard
Cemetery.
Memorial contributions if desired may be made to a charity of the
donor's choice.
