William R. Fowler, 93, of Blaisdell Avenue, Bradford, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022 at his residence, with his family by his side.
Born January 15, 1929, in Eldred, he was a son of the late Thomas and Leona (Keator) Fowler. He was a 1947 graduate of Bradford High School.
On May 6 1953, in Fulton County GA, he married Jeannine Ann (Gaynor) Fowler who preceded him in death on April 11, 2004.
On January 3, 1953, he enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged on December 28, 1954. He remaind on reserve duty until 1960.
Bill was employed as a Tool Dresser and Independent oil driller for Penzoil, Quaker State, and for the last 40 years at C.J. Morris Company.
He was a past member of the VFW, American Legion and Marche Club.
Surviving are two daughters, Beverly "Sue" Gifford, of FL, Laurie (Keith) Stewart, of Lewis Run, two sons, James H. Fowler, of Bradford, and Steve (Jami) Fowler, of Artesia NM, one brother, Donald (Sue) Fowler, of Lafayette, 17 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and two sons Gary Fowler and Michael Fowler, three brothers, Richard Fowler, Thomas Fowler, and Gerald Fowler, and one sister, Dorothy Hazzard.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday March 8, 2022, from 11:00am to 1:00pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 33 South Avenue, followed by funeral services at 1:00 pm with Rev. Fred Zickafoose, Pastor of the Bradford Area Parish, officiating. Immediately after the service Military Honors by members of the United States Army and the Honor Guard from the American Legion Post 108 of Bradford will be accorded at McKean Memorial Park.
