Beverly H. Young

Beverly H. Young, 91, of Minard Run Road, Bradford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at her residence.  

Born September 14, 1930, in Port Allegany, she was the daughter of the late Howard H. and Sigrid C. (Rehnborg) Hall.

She was a 1948 graduate of Port Allegany High School and a 1952 graduate of Mansfield State Teachers College with a degree in Music Education.

On June 4, 1954 in Port Allegany, she married Dr. Frederick J. Young who survives.

Beverly was employed as the Band Director at Wilcox High School in 1952, and later at the Har-Brack school system. While in Pittsburgh she attended Carnegie Institute of Technology to study music, and later taught at the Music Academy in State College.

She was an accomplished musician, playing French Horn, Piano and many other instruments.  She enjoyed playing with numerous bands and orchestras in Pittsburgh, State College, Bradford, and Ithaca NY.

Beverly was an avid tennis player and past member of several tennis associations in Pittsburgh, State College and Olean NY.

Surviving in addition to her husband Frederick of 67 years are three sons, John F. Young, of Ithaca NY, James R. (Julie) Young, of Port Allegany, and Jeffrey K. Young, of Bradford, five grandchildren, Jesse R. Young, James Robert Young, Thomas Barnett-Young, Annie Barnett-Young, Rosemary Barnett-Young, and one nephew, Jon C. Hall.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother John G. Hall.

There will be no public services, private services will be held at the convenience of family. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery. 

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc.
