June C. Giles

June C. Giles, 95, of Chapel Ridge, formerly of 652 West Washington Street, Bradford, passed away, Wednesday May 4, 2022, at Bradford Regional Medical Center.

Born June 16, 1926, in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Josephine (West) Covert. She was a 1944 graduate of Bradford High School.

On April 16, 1948, she married Samuel W. Giles who preceded her in death on May 22, 1997.

June had been employed as a bookkeeper at Giles Sterling Service Station, and Singer Country Store.

She was a member of the Hill Memorial United Methodist Church where she served as treasurer of the handbell choir, and various other positions during her lengthy membership.

June enjoyed gardening at her home, church activities and visiting her daughter in Denton, TX. Throughout her life and at her time of her death June was surrounded dear friends from her family, neighborhood, and church. June will be missed by all.

Surviving are nephews, Spence Garvin, Centre Hall, Gary Garvin, Pittsburgh, Jay Garvin, Hanover, and James Erwin, Bradford, and one niece, Debbie Giles Danelski, Ft Worth, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Sam Giles, one daughter Mildred Jo "Millie" Giles who died November 26, 2019, one brother, Jack D. Covert, and one sister, Phyllis Erwin.

Friends will be received on Monday May 16, 2022, from 11 AM to 12:30PM, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 12:30 PM in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. 33 South Avenue, with Rev. Max Miller officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.

June supported numerous charitable organizations throughout her life and would appreciate you making a donation to your own favorite charitable organization in lieu of flowers.
