Richard E. Newhouse, Jr., 57, of 5 Harrisburg Run, Bradford, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Olean General Hospital.
Born January 20, 1965, in Kane, he was a son of the late Richard E. Newhouse and Mary (Swartzfager) Newhouse O'Connell who survives.
Dick was a 1982 graduate of Bradford High School.
On May 1, 1998, in Bradford he married Georgia D. (Lipps) Newhouse who survives.
Dick was employed at Mastercraft, and Maza Sheet Metal in Olean, Super User Technologies and Werzalit in Bradford, and at the time of his death as a truckdriver for Stoney Hollow Tire Company.
He was a past member of the Eagles, Bradford Pool League, the Old Timers Softball League. He was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Pirates and Penguins. He enjoyed fishing and was awarded the Senior Angler Award by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission for Trophy Walleye and Brook Trout fishing.
Surviving is his mother and stepfather Thomas and Mary O'Connell of Mt. Alton, his wife Georgia of 24 years, two daughters, 1st. Lt. Courtney (Captian Bradley Crow) Newhouse, of Ft. Sill OK, and Leah (Ross DeGolier) Newhouse, of Eldred, two grandchildren, Alastair DeGolier, and Brody Crow, four step grandchildren, Zya, Ayana, Nazara, and Azaryn DeGolier, one sister, Ruth O'Connell, of Mt Alton, four brothers, Tim Newhouse, of Mt Alton, Jim (Carolyn) Newhouse, of Bradford, David (Angela) Newhouse, of Halifax, and Joseph O'Connell, of Mt. Alton, and one step sister, Beth O'Connell, of Elyeria OH, and several nieces and nephews.
Dick was preceded in death by his father, one brother, Michael Newhouse, and one stepsister, Susan (O'Connell) Terry.
Family will receive friends on Monday May 16, 2022, from 4 to 7 PM at the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. 372 East Main St., where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM with Fr. Jim Gutting, Senior Associate of St. Bernard Church, officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions if desired may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
