Thomas J. Sheeley

Thomas J. "Tom" Sheeley, 74, of Foster Hollow, Bradford, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022, with his wife by his side.

Born May 23, 1947, in Kane, he was a son of the late Max H. and M. Elizabeth (Mills) Sheeley.

Tom was a 1965 graduate of Bradford High School.

On September 1, 1966, he entered the United States Army, he served in Vietnam and was Honorably discharged on June 13, 1968.

He was a devoted employee of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, having worked in the camps and conferences, grounds and maintenance departments. He retired after 34 years of service. Tom had a unique sense of humor and enjoyed playing tricks and jokes on family and friends.

On May 28, 2001, in the gazebo on the Pitt Bradford campus, he married, Diane L. (McCormick) Sheeley who survives.

Tom will be deeply missed by is his loving wife, Diane, one brother, Richard and his wife Barbara Sheeley, of Marshburg, two nephews, David (Angie) Sheeley and Mark (Tammy) Sheeley, three grand nieces, Camilla Sheeley, Elizabeth Sheeley, Hailey Sheeley, his mother and father-in-law, Barbara and George McCormick, four brother and sister-in-laws, Eugene McCormick, Deb (Bob) Less, Kim Slack, Sandy Walterbusch, and several grandnieces and nephews, Emily (Matt) Hensler, Allison (Tinisi Cooper) McCormick, BethAnn (Cameron) Sloan, Leanne (Kurt) Sutkus, Heidi (Ben) Weiland, Michael (Ashley) Walterbusch, Matthew McCormick, and Josh McCormick.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brother-in-laws, Jerry Walterbusch, Bob Slack, and Tim McCormick.

Family will receive friends on Friday May 20, 2022, from 11 am to 1 pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc. 33 South Avenue, at 1:00 pm funeral services will be held with Rev. Rick Nelson pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating, followed by the Honor Guard from the American Legion Post 108 of Bradford presenting the Flag.

Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorial contributions if desired may be made to University of Pittsburgh at Bradford General Scholarship Fund, 300 Campus Drive, Bradford PA 16701.
