Phillip Pete Sica

Phillip Peter ”Pete” Sica, 78, of 186 Derrick Road, Bradford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 29, 2022, at his residence. 

Born November 29, 1943 in Bradford, he was a son of the late Frederick R. and Emma (Berwald) Sica. He was a 1962 graduate of Bradford High School.

“Uncle Pete,” as he was known to family and friends, was a proud Veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1962 to 1965.

Pete married the love of his life, Karen M. Curcio, on January 15, 1966, at St. Bernard Catholic Church. They were married for over 35 years before Karen passed away on October 30, 2001.

Their home on Derrick Road was the family hub where holidays and family milestones were celebrated, and family was always welcome to stop by for a visit. Pete continued with this tradition throughout his life.

Pete was a Journeyman Electrician and a member of IBEW. He was the former Vice President of Operations at Olean Electrical Products. He also worked at Hull Electric in Olean, NY for 15 years. He was the Manager of the Jamestown, NY branch of the Maynards Electric Supply INC, a position he held for many years until his retirement.

Pete was very involved with his church parish in Limestone, NY, the former St. Patrick Catholic Church, where he was awarded the St. Joseph Award by the Bishop of Buffalo, NY for his commitment to volunteer service. He was a longtime member of The Fraternal Order of Eagles, where he worked on many volunteer projects including Eagles Supporting Autism.

Surviving is one brother, Frederick B. (Bonnie) Sica, of Findley, OH, two sister-in-laws, Barbara Boser of Bradford, and Betsy Stayer of Allegany, NY, one brother-in-law, Chris (Gayle) Curcio, from Erie, eight nieces, Mary Boser, and Lisa (Phil) Miller, both of Bradford, Kristen (Kris) Hudnall and Kylie (Jeremy) Nimeth, both of Erie, Kelli (Roger) Stahl, Jacqueline (Brent) Bayes, Janelle Sica, and Julie Sica from Ohio, four nephews, Robert (Sarah) Boser and Jeffery (Laurie Maletto) Boser both of Bradford, Mark Sica and Jeffrey Sica, both of Ohio, and several grand nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, wife, and two nieces, Noelle G. Curcio and Vicki L. Boser.

Friends will be received on Monday June 6, 2022, from 6 - 8 pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc. East Main Street.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 am in St. Bernard Church with Fr. Jim Gutting, as celebrant.  Military Honors will follow at Willow Dale Cemetery with members of the United States Army and the Honor Guard of the American Legion Post 108 of Bradford.
