Daniel John Ponticel

Daniel John Ponticel, 67, of Bradford, formerly of Clinton, passed away suddenly on May 25, 2022, to go home and be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ where he joins our dearly departed in eternal peace.

Dan spent his career as a Boilermaker traveling to many locations and various states in the area. It was on one such assignment in the Bradford area where he met his fiancé, Terri. To his delight he decided to make his home there. Despite his love for Bradford, Dan remained a loyal Pittsburgh sports fan cheering on the Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins.

Dan served as Chaplain of the Sons of American Legion, Post 108 in Bradford, PA. Dan considered this a tremendous honor and served with his utmost dedication.  He was also an Auxiliary member of VFW Post 212 and a member of Bradford Eagles FOE 2432. He made a wonderful life for himself in Bradford and contributed to the community throughout his time there.

Dan’s ready smile, wonderful sense of humor, and engaging personality endeared him to one and all. He will be forever missed and remembered by all who cherished him.

Dan is survived by his dearly loved fiancé, Terri Eschrich of Bradford, with whom he shared his life for 21 years, as well as her brother Curtis, his loving daughter, Valerie Fullum, and his six beloved grandchildren who kept him on his toes, Cayden, Exzayvien, Damyien, Taysen, Ashlyen, and Brylen. He is also survived by one sister, Diane Ponticel, two brothers, Verner (Crystal) Ponticel, and Patrick Ponticel, one uncle, Lawrence (Paquita) O’Toole, two aunts, Joanne Guyaux and Carol Alimena, as well as many treasured cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends including his very close friend, George Ruggles of Bradford.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Ellen (O’Toole) Ponticel and Verner Ponticel, as well as his Godmother, Patsy Hoffman, with whom he shared an amazing bond.

Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life to be held 1:00 pm on Saturday June 18, 2022, at the VFW in Bradford.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bradford American Legion Post 108, 210 W. Washington Street, Bradford, PA 16701.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.
