Ronald J. Yeager

Ronald J. "Ron" Yeager, 75, of Jackson Avenue, Bradford, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2022.

He was a 1964 graduate of Elk County Christian High School, and a 1972 graduate of Penn State University where he received his Associates Degree in Business Management.

On June 21, 1969, in Queen of the World Catholic Church in St. Marys, he married Christine A. (Mildrew) Yeager who survives.

Ron began his career with the United States Post Office in Ridgway in 1968 working his way up to Postmaster. He was assigned to the Bradford Post Office in 1981 and served as Postmaster until his retirement in 2002.

He was a member of St. Bernard Church, served as Secretary and President of the Bradford Kiwanis Club where he enjoyed performing in the Kapers, served on the Board of Director's at the American Red Cross, the American Cancer Society, NARFE, and the National Association of Post Masters of the United States.

Ron liked to travel and tour new areas, visiting almost all of the states. One of his favorite places to be was on the golf course with his four traveling buddies. He loved to play cards with his poker friends, winning more often than losing. With cards euchre was his favorite. He participated in many area euchre leagues and tournaments. In the fall, his interest turned to football, where he cheered especially hard for the Steelers. A lover of 50’s and 60’s music, he was ready to dance and jitterbug the night away. He enjoyed being at camp around the campfire and enjoyed time with his friends, family, grand pets, and especially his grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to his wife Christine of 52 years, is one daughter, Amy (Todd) Downs, of Lewisburg, one son, Craig (Roxie) Yeager, of Homer City, five grandchildren, Alicia (September) Alleway, Madison Downs, Tyler Downs, Kira Yeager, and Cali Yeager, one sister, Susan (Blake) Haberberger, of St. Marys, and several nieces and nephews.
