Deborah A. Smith

Deborah A. Smith, 57, of Brocious Drive in Bradford, went home to the Lord on Monday, August 8th, 2022, surrounded by her loving family at Olean General Hospital.

Debbie was born in Camp Lejeune, NC, on May 14, 1965. She was the daughter of the late Frank G. and Betty L. (Garris) Mack. She was raised in Riterville, she was a 1983 graduate of Bradford Area High School.

On June 22, 1991, at St. Bernard Church, she married Mark J. Smith who survives.

Deb was employed at Pine Acres Country Club as a hostess, she also worked at Zippo Manufacturing Company for 10 years, paused to raise her children, and later she returned to the working world caring for others in their homes.

She was a member of St. Bernard Church, as well as Pine Acres Country Club, where she golfed in the “Ladies League.” She loved to attend BASD sporting events that her children participated in and was considered a “Mat Mom” to many of the other students and families, as she volunteered in the concession stand at countless wrestling matches. She loved to cook for her family and to spend time with each of them.

Surviving in addition to her husband Mark, of 31 years, is one daughter, Aubrie, and two sons: Zach and Evan Smith of Bradford. She also leaves behind two beautiful granddaughters, Kendall and Layne, who were her absolute pride and joy.

Deborah was preceded in death by her parents, as well as one sister Diana Mack-Mosher, who passed on September 3, 2017.

Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at 11:00 AM at St. Bernard Catholic Church with Father Jim Gutting, as Celebrant. Burial will be following at the Willow Dale Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.

Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the church of your choice, or any charity of your choosing in her name.

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Losing a mom is one of the most difficult phases of life on earth. The amazing thing is a parent stays with us in spirit and their presence and love can be felt. This gives us peace and assurance that we will meet again when it is time for us to shed our earthly forms. May God bless you and hold you tight during this painful time of grieving.
