Helen M. Pecora

Helen M. Pecora, 85, of Edgewood Road, Bradford, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2022, at the Bradford Ecumenical Home. 

Born on March 22, 1937, in Hundred WV, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Mildred (Hennen) Hixenbaugh.

After graduating from Bradford High School in 1956, she attended St. Bonaventure for Banking.

On September 20, 1958, in the St. Bernard Church, she married Santo "Sam” Pecora who survives. 

Helen worked for Bradford National Bank as a secretary for Chuck Rowe. After raising her family, she returned to work and operated a licensed day care program for 25 years, through the Northern Tier Community Action Agency.

She was a member of St. Bernard Church and T.O.P.S.
 
Surviving in addition to her loving and devoted husband Sam of 63 years, is one daughter, Stacie A. (Michael) Salerno, of Bradford, one son, David S. Pecora, of Bemidji MN, two grandchildren, James M. (Nora) Salerno, of Delaware OH, and Christopher D. (Katlyn) Salerno. of Bradford, two great grandchildren, Dominic and Vincenzo Salerno, two sisters, Dorothy (Tom) Chohrach, of Bradford, and Patricia (James) Cooney, of Olean, and several nieces and nephews. 
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Michael F. Pecora, who died June 17, 2009, and one brother, Ralph Hixenbaugh who died July 23, 2021.

Family will receive friends on Friday August 26, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. 372 East Main Street. Friends are also invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM on Saturday, in St. Bernard Church with Fr. Jim Gutting, as Celebrant. Entombment will be in the Pecora Family Mausoleum in St. Bernard Cemetery.

Memorial contributions if desired may be made to the Bradford Ecumenical Home Activities Fund, or a charity of the donor's choice. 

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.
