Ervin C. Olin, 80, known to most as Olie, of Stickney Trail, Willow Creek, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, September 20, 2022.
Born September 1, 1942, in Bradford, he was a son of the late Charles M. and Evelyn J. (Stoddard) Olin. He was a 1960 graduate of Bradford High School.
From there, Olie joined the United States Army and was stationed in Germany as a medic. He was honorably discharged on November 14, 1963 and he remained a dedicated veteran.
In 1985, Olie met and fell in love with Cindy A. (Butters) Olin. They were married on June 26, 1993, at the Kinzua Bridge, who survives.
After his military service, Olie owned and operated a concrete finishing service company with his older brother Maynard. He also worked for Haliburton Well Services, Dresser Manufacturing, and AirCo Speer. He retired as Road Forman for Corydon Township. He also served as an elected Corydon Township Supervisor.
His memberships included the VFW, American Legion, The Eagles, Marche Club, Italian Club, and the former Moose Lodge. He was the last surviving founding member of the Wanderer's Motorcycle Club. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, traveling to new places while meeting new friends along the way. He also enjoyed camping, hunting and anything outdoors. He was an avid San Francisco 49ers fan too.
Surviving in addition to his wife Cindy, of 29 years, are two sons and their families, both of Los Angeles CA: Charles P. Olin & wife Karen Olin with their children Lillian I. Olin, Dahlia L. Olin, Owen C. Olin; and Zachary D. Olin & wife Mi Jin Olin with their children, Mila Olin and Vivienne Olin - for a total of five grandchildren. Also surviving is sister-in-law Debbie Olin of Enville, TN, along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Maynard Olin and Dale Olin.
Family and Friends are invited to a Memorial Service to honor a great man, on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at the Wanderer's Club House, beginning at 2:00 PM with the members of the Bradford Legion Honor Guard Post 108 according military honors at 2:00 pm.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.
